Reece Lynn Edwards age 79 of Galax, Virginia passed away Monday, February 27, 2017 at his home.

Mr. Edwards was born on April 27, 1937 in Galax, Virginia to John Edgar and Nellie Pearl Burcham Edwards. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by siblings Homer Edwards, Lionel Edwards, Vincent Edwards, Dean Edwards, Keith Edwards and Evan Edwards.

He is survived by his wife Eula Anderson Edwards of Galax, Virginia; children and spouses Marvin and Angela Edwards of Fries, Virginia; Phyllis and Harry Shupe of Low Gap, North Carolina; Sandy and Tim Nester of Galax, Virginia; Lois Brannock and Mike Harris of Galax, Virginia; four grandchildren Amy Cooke, Jerry Mason, April Shupe and Jamie Brannock; five great-grandchildren; sisters Ruby Tuttle of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; Opal Walters of Galax, Virginia; Gail Edwards of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; brothers Lonnie Edwards of Galax, Virginia; Neil Edwards of Martinsville, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 PM in the Crooked Creek Community Church with the Rev. Jeff Stowers officiating. Burial will follow in the Crooked Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from twelve noon until time for the funeral service at the Crooked Creek Community Church.
