Rebecca Lorinda Lawson age 67 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, August 17, 2006 at her home. She was born on Sunday, November 20, 1938 in Carroll County, Va. to the late Asa Elmer and Myrtle Fisher Fayne. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter, Kathy Midkiff. She is survived by her husband, Charles Lee Lawson of Galax, Va.; her children and their spouse, Sandra Darlene Helmecke of Granbury, Texas; Shelia E. & Danny L. Bourne; Lewis Dale Woodel; Tina Evans; Crystal D. & Billy Savage and Angela Lawson all of Galax, Va.; a sister, Audney Waller of Bassett, Va.; ten grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, August 20th at 5:00 PM in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Camet Spivey and Rev Gray Burcham officiating. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
