Ray Odell Dalton age 74 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, June 20, 2013 at his home.

Mr. Dalton was born in Carroll County, Virginia on March 11, 1939 to Vernon and Mamie Sue Combs Dalton. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Don Dalton.

He is survived by his wife Nancy Cox Dalton of Galax, Virginia; daughter and son-in-law Rhonda and Tim Payne; son and daughter Myron and Aimee Dalton all of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren Abby Dalton, Lucas Dalton and Conner Dalton; sisters and brothers-in-law Ivalou and Jr. Bunn of Hillsville, Virginia; Fern and Jackie Shockley of Poplar Camp, Virginia; Ina Mae and Bucky Jacobs of Hillsville, Virginia; brothers and sisters-in-law Ralph and Modena Dalton of Woodlawn, Virginia; Randall and Diane Dalton; Roger and Nancy Dalton all of Hillsville, Virginia; Lonnie and Margaret Dalton of Sparta North Carolina; sister-in-law Pat Dalton of Hillsville, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 7:00 PM in the Midway Baptist Church with Rev. Myron Dalton and Rev. Mike Sage officiating. Burial will follow in the Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5:00 PM until time for the funeral service at Midway Baptist Church.
