Ralph F. Swisher age 69 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Saturday, October 1, 2011 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Mr. Swisher was born on February 13, 1942 in Pineville, Kentucky to William August and Emma Williams Swisher. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Faye Swisher and nephew
Tommy Swisher.
He is survived by his wife Barbara Ellen Swisher of Woodlawn, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law James & Wendy Swisher; William (Billy) Swisher and Karen Sue Diamond all of Galax, Virignia; Michael and Bobbi Swisher of Fredericksburg, Virginia; step-children Jeremy Craig of Princeton, West Virginia; Sarah Widener of Bluefield, West Virginia; Amber Widener of Galax, Virginia; sister Helen Swisher of Pineville, Kentucky; grandchildren Jessica Swisher; Magenta Swisher; Michelle Swisher; Michael Swisher; Amanda Swisher; Adryanna Swisher; Jenna Swisher and Maggie Swisher; two great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and one nephew.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, October 5, 2011 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Sam Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow in the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday night from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
