Ralph Ray Porterfield's Obituary
Ralph Ray Porterfield, age 81, of Fries passed away Friday May 11 in the Twin County Regional Hospital, Galax.
Mr. Porterfield was born March 9, 1926 in Carroll County to Robert & Clarsie Smythers Porterfield.
He is survived by one daughter, Nedia Porterfield of Fries, one son & daughter-in-law
Danny Ray & Cathy Porterfield of Galax; two sisters and one brother in law: Hazel Alley and Zella & Bob Phipps all of Galax. Three grandchildren: Daniel Cooper, Tammy Billings, and Bridget Miller; Three great grandchildren: Jaret Billings, Heather Miller, and Seth Cooper also survive. In addition to his parents Mr. Portefield was preceded in death by his wife Ineda Porterfield.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 Pm at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home Sunday May 13. The funeral service will be held Monday May 14 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Bob Phipps officiating. Interment will follow in the Pickett Cemetery in the Laurel Community.
