Obituary

Ralph Phipps Montgomery , also known as "Monty" age 78 of the Baywood Community, went to be with our Lord on Friday, April 9, 2010 after a short battle with lung cancer. He was born August 26, 1931 in Fries, Va., to the late John B.Montgomery and Lucy Maines Montgomery. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Jean Tolbert, brothers Dean, Bob and Roy Montgomery.

Survivors include his wife Delores Banard Montgomery; daughters and sons-in-law Kathy and Dave Dunford of Kent, Ohio; Jill and John Heese of Akron, Ohio; son and daughter-in-law Alan and Nancy Montgomery of Hartville, Ohio; son Tony Montgomery and fiancee' Leigh Ann Hodges of Rock Hill, South Carolina; sister, Myrtle Montgomery Clodfelter of High Point, North Carolina; brothers Billy and Jimmy Montgomery of Galax, Va.; two step-sons and daughters-in-law, Barry and Beth Smith of Green Township, Ohio; Mike and Toni Smith of Florida; two step-daughters, Patty Gail Holder and Diane Blue of Akron,Ohio; fifteen grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; nine step-grandchildren and ten step-great-grandchildren; several beloved nieces and nephews.

He served in the U.S. Army in Japan during the Korean Conflict.

A memorial service will be held at the home, 240 Cold Springs Lane in Baywood on Saturday, April 17, 2010 at 2:00 pm with Pastor Rodney Christman officiating. In lieu of flowers,contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in his memory.

Dad, you touched many, many lives and will be sadly missed. We all love you dearly. Rest now..High On The Mountain!
