Ralph Anthony Montgomery

May 19, 1954 - November 20, 2014

Ralph Anthony Montgomery, also known as Tony Montgomery, of Rock Hill, SC, native of Galax, Virginia, went to be with the LORD Friday, Nov. 20, 2014.

He is preceded in death by his father Ralph Phipps Montgomery. He is survived by sons Zachary Montgomery and Nicholas Montgomery, grandson Taylor Montgomery, mother Hazel Montgomery, siblings Kathy (Dave) Dunford, Alan (Nancy) Montgomery, Jill (John) Heese, and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He also leaves many friends, co-workers and brothers and sisters in Christ.

Born in Akron, OH, he and his family moved to Galax at age 15 where he resided until 2008. He then moved to Rock Hill, SC, where he continued his employment with Guardian Industries Glass Co.

Tony stood out as a man of deep faith in Jesus. He carried that faith with much integrity and had an infectious love for people. The loves of his life were his sons and grandson, to whom he was truly devoted. He was also a very loving son, brother and uncle.

Even though he lived and worked in Rock Hill, SC, his love for Galax was evidenced by his frequent visits, keeping his relationship with family and friends active. He was an avid golfer and maintained his membership at Blue Ridge Country Club.

The funeral will be at Camp Zion Church, 109 Camp Zion Rd, Galax, VA 24333, Tuesday, Nov. 25th @ 10:30 am. Graveside service to follow. The family will receive friends Monday evening from six until eight at the Camp Zion Church.
