Rachel Opal Bedsaul, age 93, of Galax, Virginia, passed away May 31, 2020. She was the daughter of the late Herman Luther and Rosella Tate Payne. She was preceded in death by her husband Brooks E. Bedsaul, son John M. "Bucky" Payne, daughters, Betty Burcham and Jean Stoneman. She was a dedicated member of Calvary Baptist Church, Galax Virginia. She loved the many children she babysat throughout her years. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary and Henry Cozort of Shady Springs, West Virginia and Melissa and Mark Davis of Columbia, South Carolina. Two sisters and brother in laws, Mary Aleen and George Nelson, Bonnie Eve and Kelly Nelson. Step-daughter Emma and Joe Walbroehl, Step-sons Marvin and Penny Bedsaul, Michael Bedsaul and William "Billy" Bedsaul. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A private graveside service for the family will be held on Tuesday June 2nd at Camp Zion Church by the Rev. James Billings of Calvary Baptist Church, Galax Virginia. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request donations may be made to the Calvary Baptist Church.
