Posey Lee Nichols, age 81, of Woodlawn, VA passed away Saturday, Dec. 8, 2007 in the Twin County Regional Hospital, Galax. He was born Nov. 15, 1926 in Grayson County, VA to Charlie and Blanche Joines Nichols. He is survived by his wife, June Gardner Nichols of the home, daughters & son-in-law, Pennie & Robert Anderson, Roanoke, Patsy Nichols Morrison, Greeley, CO, son & daughter-in-law, Stephen Lee & Resa Nichols, Woodlawn, sisters, Marie N. Siceloff, Hartwell , Georgia, Elsie N. Pugh, Hillsville, Minnie N. Patton, Galax, brother & sister-in-law, C. Eugene & Geneva Nichols, Galax, grandchildren, Donovan P. Duff, Lauren E. Nichols, Eli S. Nichols and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Nichols funeral service will be held at the Woodlawn United Methodist Church Thursday, December 13, 2007 at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the Woodlawn Church Cemetery. Officiating ministers are the Rev. Terry Gregory and the Rev. Charles Smythers. In leiu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, The Woodlawn United Methodist Church or the Woodlawn United Methodist Church Quoir. Military rites will be performed by the Hillsville VFW Post 1115. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Wednesday at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
