Phyllis Margaret Porter's Obituary
Phyllis Margaret Porter, 87, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Golden Living Center Nursing & Rehab in Galax, VA. Mrs. Porter was born in Wythe County, Virginia on December 7, 1925 to the late Marshall Thomas and India Pearl Fields Vaughan. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Alfred Kent Porter.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law: Debbie Schuette and Joseph of Stafford, Virginia; Pat Moore of Columbus, Georgia; one son Ron Porter of Fries, Virginia; two sisters Barbara Murphy of Galax, Virginia and Carol Ann Murphy of Fries, Virginia; one brother Duane Vaughan of Baywood, Virginia; three grandchildren: Tracy Moore, Bobby Moore, Emily Schuette and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, January 20, 2013 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Bob Adams officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 Pm until service time at the church.
