Phyllis Joella Phipps Branscome age 77 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday, August 2, 2020 at her home.

Phyllis was born in Mountain City, Tennessee on August 9, 1942 to Glade Lawrence and Velma Geneva Greer Phipps. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her son Lewis Branscome; brothers Boyd Phipps and Joe Phipps; half-sister Virginia Phipps and special friend Pauline Wooten.

She is survived her daughter Geneva Branscome of Jacksonville, Florida; granddaughter Amy Hedley; great-grandchildren Jadon Kee; Malia Hedley; Silas Simpson; Owen Hedley and Olivia Hedley; a half-brother Richard Phipps of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina; several nieces and nephews.

A service will be held Friday at 11:00 AM in the Monta Vista Mausoleum with the Rev. Richard Gregory officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
