Phillip Lee Taylor, Sr., age 70. Woodlawn, VA, died Friday, May 20,2016 in the Forsyth Medical Center, Winston Salem, NC.

Mr. Taylor was born Oct. 09,1945 in Washington County, VA.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Whitaker and is survived by his wife, Ruth Taylor, Woodlawn, VA; daughter & son-in-law, Melissa & James Anthony, Galax, VA; son & daughter-in-law, P.J. & Robin Taylor,Jr, Galax, VA; step-daughter & husband, Teresa & Johnny Booher, Blountville, TN; grandchildren, Jaden Taylor, Joshua Taylor, Austin Anthony, Ryan Anthony; step-grandchildren, Chad & Chelsea Booher; step great grandchild, Henry Booher; sisters & brothers-in-law, Dorothy & Gilbert Isenberg, Margaret & Gary Offield, Patsy & John Spears all of Bristol, VA; brothers & sisters-in-law, Tommy & Jeanne Whitaker and Jimmy & Lisa Whitaker of Roanoke, VA; several nieces & nephews.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at 11:00 AM at the Fairview Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour preceding the funeral service.The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM Until 8:00 PM Monday, May 23, 2016 at the church. Officiating ministers will be The Rev. Sam Holder and the Rev. Myron Dalton.

Military rites will be conducted by the Hillsville VFW Post #1115.
