Pheobe Ruth Lyons Anders age 86 of Galax, Va. passed away Sunday, February 18, 2007 in Waddell Nursing Home. She was born in Iowa on December 6,1920 to the late Lennie & Mattie Shupe Lyons. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Freddie Young Anders. She is survived by her daughters & sons-in-law Barbara & Bob Hill of Belew Creek, N.C.; Joy & Norwood Hodges of Talbott, Tennessee; Rhonda Anders & Mike Hanks of Galax, Va.; sisters Nora Shaw of Galax, Va. and Ann Watkins of Annapolis, Maryland; seven grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2007 at 1:00 PM in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Elder Herbert Rutherford officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
