Peggy Sue Combs Burnette age 71 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday May 25, 2022 in the Blue Ridge Health and Rehab Center.

Peggy was born in Galax, Virginia on February 23, 1951 to Arnold and Josie Stoneman Combs. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother Kyle Raymond Combs.

She is survived by her husband Dannie Burnette; son and daughter-in-law Travis and Jessica Leonard all of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren Cassie and Sam Mayberry; Ely Leonard; great-grandchild Pheonix Mayberry; sisters and brothers-in-law Mary and Bill Lundy; Muriel and Junior Burnette all of Galax, Virginia; Jo Anne Hale of North Wilkesboro, North Carolina;  brothers and sisters-in-law Gerald and Reva Combs of Elkin, North Carolina; Kenneth and Phyllis Combs of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews; mother-in-law Nancy Ruth Burnette of Galax, Virginia.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Dave Anders officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home or at the home of Travis and Jessica Leonard, 374 Waterwheel Road, Galax, Virginia anytime
