Edna Pearl Collins Osborne, age 88, of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday, October 3, 2010, at the home of her daughter.

Mrs. Osborne was born on December 29, 1921, in Carroll County, Virginia, to Mahlon R. and Callie Snow Collins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Clinton Floyd Osborne; daughter, Judi Carol King; and grandson, Charles Kenneth King, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Jane O. and Dwight A. Dunbar (Galax); grandchildren: Lea-ann Dunbar-Bergius (Munich, Germany); Alan Dunbar (Winona, Minnesota), and Angela King Fulton (Mt. Airy, NC); six great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother and sister-in-law, Pierce and Hattie Collins (Galax); sister, Faye Vass (Bel Air, Maryland).

The funeral service will be held Sunday, October 10, 2010, at 3:00 PM at Mt. Vale United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jeff Callahan and the Rev. Dr. Karin Culp officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Vale Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Mt. Vale United Methodist Church on Sunday from 2:00 pm until service time. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Mt. Vale United Methodist Church.
