Pauline Wooten age 92 of Fries, Virginia passed away Saturday, May 9, 2020 at her home.

Ms. Wooten was born in Galax, Virginia on January 9, 1928 to William Ben and Hassie Mae Edwards Wooten. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a granddaughter Crystal Renae Smith and nine siblings.

She is survived by her daughters and son-in-law Mary Lou and William Preston Caldwell of Fries, Virginia; Margaret Ward of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren and spouses Harold Keith Smith; Arthur Kevin Smith both of Galax, Virginia; Jason Aaron Smith of Sylvatus, Virginia; Marie and Anthony Slater of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; David and Jennifer Ward of Charlotte, North Carolina; Chris and Kendrah Ward of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews; special friends Phyllis Branscome and Wanda Dowling; special caregivers Twin County Hospice and Blue Ridge Home Health employees.

A graveside service will be held in the Crab Creek Cemetery with Pastor Elvis Poole officiating.
