Ruby Pauline Leonard age 93 of Galax, Virginia passed  away Wednesday March 15, 2023 at her home.

Mrs. Leonard was born in Grayson County, Virginia on November 24, 1929 to Joseph and Hallie Anders Stamper. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Thurman Martin Leonard; son Gale Leonard; sister Louise Blevins and brother Junior Hodge.

She is survived by two daughters Sharon Burcham of Chinook, Montana and Nancy Hutchens of Galax, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law Robert and Yvette Leonard of Hillsville, Virginia; Allen and Margarita Leonard of Silver City, New Mexico; Edward and Lesa Leonard; Daniel Leonard; Randall Leonard all of Galax, Virginia;  Jeffrey and Pamela Leonard of Rural Retreat, Virginia; sister Mary Lee Nichols of Advance, North Carolina; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren; half-brothers and half-sisters Ella Ruth Stoneman; Demmie Breedings; Joe Stamper and Charlie Stamper.

The funeral service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM in the Locust Grove Church of Christ with Bill Dinwiddie officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 1:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Locust Grove Church of Christ.
