Pauline Lemons, 99, of Galax passed away Monday, July 21, 2014 at Waddell Nursing and Rehab, Galax, Virginia. Mrs. Lemons was born on August 21, 1914 in Sparta, North Carolina to the late Carl Rutherford and Lydia Adams Rutherford.

She is survived by daughters and sons-in-law: Mary and Dale Burnette; Nancy Cruise and John Williams; Linda Lemons all of Galax, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law: Robert and Cynthia Coleman; Roger Dale and Lyndell Lemons all of Galax, Virginia. Ten grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews survive along with special caregiver Bonnie Smith.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Robert McLean officiating. Burial will follow in the Galax City Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 23, 2014 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
