Diana Paulette Melton Thompson age 72 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday April 14, 2021 at her home.

Paulette was born in Galax, Virginia on May 17, 1948 to William Ivery and Dorothy Gertrude Galyean Melton. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Larry Aaron Thompson, Sr. and a brother William Gary Melton.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Lynette and Josh Poe of Galax, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law Larry and Michelle Thompson, Jr. of Galax, Virginia; Lee Thompson and Katrina Farmer of Woodlawn, Virginia; grandchildren and spouses Larry Thompson, III and Amanda; Heather Kluge and Michael; Benjamin Ivery Thompson; Sophia Thompson; five great-grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law Terri and Artie Ellis of High Point, North Carolina; several nieces and nephews and her special pet Scruffy.

A graveside service will be held Saturday at 11:00 AM in the Felts Memorial Cemetery with Pastor Mike Morris officiating. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 AM until time for the graveside service at the Felts Memorial Cemetery.
