Paul Edward Anders age 78 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2016 in the Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Anders was born in Galax, Virginia on May 10, 1938 to Cosby and Lura Anders.
He proudly served his country in the US Army.
He is survived by his wife Ruth Emogene Anders of Galax, Virginia; step-sons and spouse Gregory and Betty Davis of Fries, Virginia; Greyling Davis of Dublin, Virginia; step-grandchildren Sabrina Davis of Christiansburg, Virginia; LeAnn Robinson of Dublin, Virginia; Holly Davis of Independence, Virginia; Michael Davis of Boone, North Carolina; six step-great-grandchildren; sisters and spouses Mary Ruth and Barry Lawson of Fries, Virginia; Delores and Bobby Yow of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews; special friend Gerald Johnson.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, August 13, 2016 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Don Fox and Pastor Ron Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 10:00 AM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. Military Rites will be conducted by the Grayson VFW Post 7726. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Gideons International, P.O. Box 614 Galax, Virginia 24333.
