Patricia Elizabeth
Irvin
February 16, 1942 – June 2, 2023
We are heartbroken to share the news of our loss. Patricia Myers Irvin passed away on June 2, 2023, at her home. Her absence is enormous.
Patricia (Pat) was born on February 16, 1942, in Montgomery County, Virginia. The youngest of six children, Patricia was welcomed by her mother, Lillian Price Myers and her father, Allen Oakley Myers. Their home was full of laughter, hard work and joy.
Pat met her husband, Steve, at Blacksburg High School when they were both 14 years old and it was love at first sight! Their expression of love and admiration of one another continued to warm our hearts throughout the years. Pat was an amazing lady, always putting family first. Family gatherings on the farm with her preparing family meals will be irreplaceable.
She leaves behind her husband of 64 years, Stephen Brooks Irvin, their son, Stephen Anthony and wife Lisa, and their daughter, Lara Irvin Gillespie and husband Kim. Also left behind are four grandchildren, Brooks (Abby) Irvin, Alex (Sarah) Irvin, Elijah Gillespie, Lillian "Ellie" Gillespie and five great-granddaughters, Anna, Emily, Emory, Riley and Lucy Irvin.
Pat is also survived by her sister, Clarice Myers Vaught, along with several nieces and nephews -- all dear to "Aunt Tricia." She was preceded in death by her parents and four siblings, Jack Myers, Wayne Myers, Joline Myers Fisher and Ronnie Myers.
Pat poured her time and energy into creating a welcoming home and caring for the farm and their animals. Her true passion was supporting her husband, children and grandchildren to be the best they could be. She did all she could to prepare them for success. In addition to her family, her home and her pets, Pat's passions included traveling, reading, horseback riding, fox hunting and playing her favorite card games, Rummy and Kings in the Corner, with her grandchildren.
Pat's presence will be greatly missed as we learn to move forward by focusing on the beautiful memories of our loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend.
