Pamela Kaye Asbury age 59 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday, November 1, 2017 in the Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center.
Pamela was born in Pulaski, Virginia on March 26, 1958 to Roscoe Allen and Carol Maude Reavis Asbury. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by an aunt Barbara Spence.
She is survived by her mother and step-father Carol and John Edwards of Galax, Virginia; sister and brother-in-law Carolyn A. and Jim Cockerham of Dobson, North Carolina; brother and sister-in-law Roscoe Allen Asbury, Jr. and Diana of Troutville, Virginia; nieces and husband Rebecca and Avery Beck; Rachael Asbury; nephew Jonathan Cockerham and his fiancé Sara Stukas; great-nieces Elysabeth Beck; Addalyne Beck; great-nephews Jordan Cockerham and Jake Stukas; special friend Mike Beasley and to many extended family members and friends to list by name.
Pamela was a member of the Galax High School graduating Class of 1976 and was an employee of the Southwest Virginia Training Center for 41 years and a den mother for the Baywood Cub Scouts for several years. She was a lifelong member of the Longview United Methodist Church.
Her family was very proud of her service to be there and help all people when needed whatever the situation might be.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, November 4, 2017 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Randy Morris and the Rev. Lee Houston officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:00 noon until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
