Ova Jean Turman, age 91, of Galax, Virginia passed away Friday December 29, 2023 in Waddell Nursing & Rehab.

Ova was born on April 10, 1932 in Galax, Virginia to the late Edgar and Margie Hines. She was also preceded in death by her husband Garver Turman.

She is survived by her stepdaughter and son-in-law Patricia and Randy Smith of Galax, Virginia; stepson and daughter-in-law Ben and Barbara Turman of Galax, Virginia; sister Linda Maness of Franklinville, North Carolina; as well as several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday January 4, 2024 at the Fairlawn Church of Christ with Kent Allender officiating Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The body will lie in state for one hour prior to the service.
