Otis Gayle Griffith age 85 of Galax, Virginia passed away Monday, June 18, 2018 in the Galax Health and Rehab Center.

Mr. Griffith was born in Grayson County, Virginia on October 12, 1932 to Jasper and Bess Galyean Griffith.

He was a member of the Galax Moose Lodge, an avid fisherman and loved to spend time with his family. He enjoyed working in his garden and was well known for his gardening abilities.

He is survived by his wife Jo Anne Griffith; daughter Susan Johnson; granddaughters and spouses Carol and Frankie Harris; Sherri and Paul Newberry all of Galax, Virginia; great-grandchildren Josh Billings; Katelin Harris; Bailey Newberry; great-great-grandchildren Maelee Billings and Leia Billings; three nephews.

A memorial service will be held Thursday at 3:00 PM in the Beech Grove Church with Pastor Tom Burcham officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 2:30 PM until time for the service at the Beech Grove Church and afterwards at the home of Sherri and Paul Newberry, 1358 Longview Lane Galax, Virginia.
