Otis Leon Burcham age 73 of Fries, Va. passed away Friday, March 6,2009 at Twin County Regional Hospital. Mr. Burcham was born in Grayson County, Va. on December 30, 1935 to Howard & Hazel Juanita Anders Burcham. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Swanson "Cotton" Burcham, nephew Allen Burcham and brother-in-law Robert "Bob" Isom. He is survived by his wife Betty Ruth Burcham of Fries, Va.; daughter & son-in-law Kim & Jack Lawson of Max Meadows, Va.; granddaughter Jacklyn Lawson; grandson Jackson Lawson; step-grandsons & wife Adam Lawson of Max Meadows, Va.; Shannon & Yamile Lawson of Iraq & Wainwright, Alaska; sisters & brothers-in-law Melba & Clifford Lineberry; Novella & Gerald Coleman; Joyce Isom; Shirley & Roy "Speck" Hill all of Fries, Va.; brothers & sisters-in-law Lonnie & Betty Jane Burcham; Rex & Lowana Burcham all of Fries, Va.; Gary & Vanessa Burcham of Fredericksburg, Va.; brothers-in-law & wife Clyde & Clive Edwards of Ennice, N.C.; Lewis Fender of Fries, Va.; sisters-in-law Grace Fender of Sparta, N.C.; Cora Lee Cobbler of Kernersville, N.C.; several nieces & nephews; special great-nephews "Chip" & Martin Fender. The funeral service will be held Sunday, March 8, 2009 at 2:00 pm in the Fries Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Bill Linkous, Rev. Ron Hill & Rev. D.G. Fox officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. The body will lie-in-state one hour prior the funeral service. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Fries Rescue Squad or Joy Ranch For Children.
