Otis Michael Bond, 92, of Galax, Virginia passed away at his home on Sunday, December 21, 2014. Mr. Bond was born in Fries, Virginia on May 31, 1922 to the late Joe Bond and Pauline Worley Bond. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by the mother of his children Doris Bond and a son Michael Joe Bond.

Mr. Bond proudly served his country in the United States Army from December 17, 1942 until December 30, 1945.

He is survived by daughters and sons-in-law: Doris & Glen Edwards of Hillsville; Dianna and Doug Aldred of Galax; sons and daughters-in-law: Randy and Pat Bond of Galax; Johnny Bond of Dugspur; Todd Bond of Galax; step son and wife Herbert & Jean Vaughan of Richmond, Virginia; brothers Donald Bond of Galax; Gilmer Bond of Okeechobee, Florida; sisters-in-law Barbara Bond of Galax and Avery Bond of Fries; 9 grandchildren, several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 24, 2014 at 11:00 AM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening December 23, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
