Oscar Ray Hill (Better Known as Ray) 96, of Fries passed away Tuesday, January 29, 2013, at the Waddell Nursing Home, Galax, Virginia. He was born in Carroll County, Virginia on March 5, 1916 to Kelvy and Levie Williams Hill. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four sisters Ada Scott, Carrie Crowder, Mattie Hill and Hattie Hill and brother Edgar Hill.

He is survived by his wife Mella Hill of Fries; two sisters Ruby Hill and Rivers Smith, both of Fries, Virginia and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 12:00 Noon in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Bill Linkous and Rev. Jeff Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
