Opal Faye Hammock's Obituary
Opal Faye Hammock age 91 of Galax, Virginia passed away Monday, September 6, 2010 in Twin County Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Hammock was born in Grayson County, Va. on February 10, 1919 to Emmett Alexander and Bertha Elizabeth Testerman Anderson. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Homer Hammock.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law Nona & Charles Lloyd Jones; Faye & Arthur Cox all of Galax, Va.; grandchildren and spouses Denise & Chris King; Angie & Lyn Mills; Michelle & Milo Crawford; Cherie & Mike Downey; Buck & Stacy Cox; thirteen great-grandchildren; two half- sisters Irene Mclean and Eula Edwards both of Galax, Va.; special caregivers Norma Anauo, Betty Beasley and Pam Haggerty.
The funeral service will be held Friday, September 10, 2010 at 1:00 PM at Longview United Methodist Church with Rev. Bill Ring and Rev. Ted Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow in the Fields Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
