Opal Taylor Funk, 78, of Galax, VA passed away Monday, June 15, 2015 in the Waddell Nursing and Rehab Center. Mrs. Funk was born in Grayson County, Virginia on August 29, 1936 to the late Owen Taylor and Della Lineberry Taylor. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert Posey Funk.

Mrs. Funk is survived by daughter Lisa Ruth Funk, son Roger Lee Funk and granddaughter Kaci Elizabeth Funk all of Galax, Virginia. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service will be Friday, June 19, 2015 at 1:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Sam Holder and Rev. Matt Linkous officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening (June 18, 2015) from 6 o'clock until 8 o'clock at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
