Oneta Shaffner Bourne age 76 of Fries, Virginia passed away Tuesday, May 12, 2009 at Twin County Regional Hospital.
Mrs. Bourne was born on February 11, 1933 in Carroll County, Virginia to Tyre & Addie Bourne Shaffner.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John Alfred Bourne, sister Edith Linville, brothers Marvin and Sam Shaffner.
She is survived by her son Gary Bourne of Fries, Va.; daughter & son-in-law Debra & Richard Carroll of Concord, Va.; grandchildren & spouse Cindy Templeton, Sherry & Sammy Grishaw; Jason Williams; great-grandchildren; Alexson Williams and Evan Templeton; sister Marie Pearman of Fries, Va.; brothers Kyle Shaffner, Virgil Shaffner; Coy Shaffner and Earl Shaffner all of Fries, Va.; several nieces & nephews.
The funeral service will be held Friday, May 15,2009 at 2:00 pm in Mt. Hope United Methodist Church with Rev. Ken Blevins officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from six until eight at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
