Ona "Faye" Funk , age 88, of Fries, VA, died Saturday, March 8, 2014 in the Waddell Nursing Home, Galax, VA.
Mrs. Funk was born April 25, 1925 in the Pine Mountain section, Independence, VA to Guy & Myrtle Catron Hampton. Her parents and her husband, Rex Carlyle Funk preceded her in death..
She is survived by one daughter, Brenda Waller, Fries, VA; grandchildren, Barry & Lisa Waller, Galax, VA; great-granddaughter, Tori Lynn Waller; step-great-granddaughters, Amber Sexton & Ashley Sexton; sister-in-law & spouse, Mildred & Andrew Layne; six step-great-great-grandchildren & several nieces & nephews, also, survive.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 11, 2014 in the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home Chapel, Galax, VA at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Summerfield Cemetery, The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Monday, March 10, 2014 at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. Officiating ministers will be the Rev. Robert Adams and the Rev. Greg Carico.
