Olen Carl Parks age 87 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Saturday, November 10, 2018 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Mr. Parks was born in Carroll County, Virginia on September 28, 1931 to Floyd and Della Mae Carpenter Parks. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two brothers Edward Parks and William Billy Parks; two sisters Ethel Parks Melton and Dorothy Parks Melton.

He proudly served his country in the US Army.

He is survived by his wife Dottie Hanks Parks of Woodlawn, Virginia; sons Elwood Jones of Woodlawn, Virginia; Scott Parks of Gaston, South Carolina; sisters Pauline Jackson; Barbara Burcham; Peggy Isom; brothers and sisters-in-law Clyde and Darlene Parks; Truman and Dawn Parks; Roger and Frankie Parks all of Galax, Virginia;  several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be held Friday, November 16, 2018 at 11:00 AM in the Woodlawn United Methodist Church with the Rev. Dina Clower and the Rev. Terri Gregory officiating. Burial will follow in the Bishops Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Military Rites will be conducted by the Hillsville VFW Post 1115. The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 AM until time for the service at the Woodlawn United Methodist Church.
