Ola Mae "Penny" Melton age 53 of Galax, Virginia passed away Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at her home.

Penny was born on March 22, 1957 in Wythe County, Virginia to Clyde F. Sayers, Sr. and Lois Virginia Allison Sayers. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother Kenneth Allison; father-in-law and mother-in-law Ralph & Margaret Melton and brother-in-law Eddie Melton.

She is survived by her husband Bucky O. Melton, Sr. of Galax, Virginia; daughters Misty D. Jones and Kristie R. Melton both of Galax, Virginia; son Bucky O. "Bo" Melton, Jr. of Galax, Virginia; grandchildren Corey Ogle, Jadia Sawyers, Kaleb McFarland, Maddy Melton and Demeturis Jones; great-grandchild Isaac Ogle; sisters and brothers-in-law Brenda and Larry Whitaker; Diane and Jimmy Butcher; Kathy and Carter Smith; Vicky and Shortie Testerman all of Galax, Virginia; Debbie and James Sherrill of Charlotte, North Carolina; brothers and sisters-in-law Frank and Klyce Sayers; Danny Wayne and Priscilla Sayers all of Galax, Virginia; sister-in-law Anita Allison of Wisconsin; half- sisters Patty Johnson and Dorothy Sayers; several nieces and nephews; special friends Connie Whittington and Santana Araniva.

The funeral service will be held Friday, November 5, 2010 at 1:00 PM in the Bible Baptist Church with Rev. Ted Bartlett officiating. Burial will follow in Bishops Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from eleven until service time at Bible Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Twin County Hospice.
