Odell Reynolds Bryson age 72 of Galax, Virginia passed away Sunday, July 28, 2013 in the VA Medical Center in Salem, Virginia.

Mr. Bryson was born in Grayson County, Virginia on September 28, 1940 to Ray Charles and Mary Elizabeth Roberts Bryson. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Rebecca Kyle Bryson; sisters Mattie Lee Bryson and Irene Hale and a brother Joe Bryson.

Mr. Bryson proudly served his country in the U S Army.

He is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Marie Gary of Clinton, Maryland; son Eric B. Bryson of Bowie, Maryland, grandchildren Patrick Bryson; Zack Bryson and Kyle Bryson; sisters and brother-in-law Margaret and Kenneth Brown; Stella Brown all of Galax, Virginia; Melba Peoples of Winston-Salem, North Carolina; brothers John Henry Bryson of Radcliff, Kentucky; Richard Bryson of Jacksonville, Florida; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, August 4, 2013 at 3:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with the Rev. Andre Barnes,the Rev. Sidney Beamer and the Evangelist Jessica Beamer officiating. Burial will follow in the Monta Vista Cemetery with Military Rites by the Grayson VFW Post 7726. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 PM until time for the funeral service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
