Oakley E. Carico age 80 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, March 17, 2011 in the Roanoke Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Carico was born on October 14, 1930 in Carroll County, Virginia to Wiley and Renee Isom Carico.
He is survived by his wife Jewell Carico of Galax, Virginia; daughters and sons-in-law Janet & Steve Wade; Velvet Jennings all of Galax, Virginia; Patricia & Tom Braton of Lebanon, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law Randall & Sharon Carico; Johnny & Karen Carico; Alan Carico all of Galax, Virginia; Jeff and Cindy Carico of Woodlawn, Virginia; sister Virginia Miller of Fries, Virginia; fifteen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren and two step-great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 19, 2011 at 4:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Ron Hill officiating. Burial will follow in the McKenzie Cemetery with Military Rites by Grayson VFW Post 7726. The family will receive friends Saturday from 3:00 PM until time for the service at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
