Norma Lee Nuckolls Quesenberry age 89 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, January 11, 2024 at a Senior Home Share Residence in Galax, Virginia.

She was born in (Galax) Grayson County, Virginia at home to Alexander Heath and Sarah Luella Lundy Nuckolls. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Olen Quesenberry; eleven siblings (7 sisters and four brothers).

Norma was a very kind and humble lady. She graduated in 1953 from Galax, High School and attended Radford College for a while. Then she returned to Galax and met the love of her life, Olen Quesenberry. They married on October 8, 1955 and she pursued many different secretarial jobs ultimately working at Webb Furniture Company office as an executive secretary before retiring.

Norma was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed helping others, attending church, walking, playing piano and spending time with her family.

She was a member of the Hillsville VFW Ladies Auxiliary and First Christian Church (DOC).

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Tammy Q. Smith (Doug) of Woodlawn, Virginia; grandsons Phillip D. Smith (Karen) of Chantilly, Virginia; Patrick Heath Smith (Katie) of Youngsville, North Carolina; one great-grandson Gavin Phillip Smith of Chantilly, Virginia; several nieces and nephews; as well as a special cousin Norma Busic; brother-in-law and wife Darrell and Linda Quesenberry; and many friends.

A memorial service will be held at the First Christian Church (DOC) on Saturday, January 27th at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Glen Sage and the Rev. David Rhudy officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Coulson Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, January 27th from 1:00 PM until time for the service at the First Christian Church. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the First Christian Church (DOC), 402 North Jefferson Street, Galax, Virginia 24333 in memory of Norma.

She will surely be missed!
