Nola Alice Edwards Combs age 92 of Woodlawn, Virginia passed away Tuesday, December 9, 2008 at her home. Mrs. Combs was born on September 11, 1916 in Carroll County, Va. to Hugh & Laura Carico Edwards. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Howell Combs. She is survived by her daughters & sons-in-law Faye & Wayne Spears; Eilleen Dillard all of Woodlawn, Va.; Dorothy & Benny Carper of Galax, Va.; son & daughter-in-law Elmer & Nancy Combs of Galax, Va.; ten grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; eleven step-great-grandchildren; five step-great-great-grandchildren; several nieces & nephews. The funeral service will be held Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 2:00 pm in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Sam Holder & Rev. Ray Bolen officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
