Niriel Sawyers Alley's Obituary
Niriel Sawyers Alley age 87 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, September 27, 2012 at her home.
Mrs. Alley was born in Carroll County, Virginia on July 4, 1925 to Robert and Nolia Wright Sawyers.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Sanford Alley; children; Dionna Alley; Ted Alley, Jesse Alley and Bitha Alley.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Guyda and Johnny R. Melton of Galax, Virginia; Sue and Kenneth Green of Woodlawn, Virginia; sons and daughters-in-law Cleve Sawyers of Woodlawn, Virginia; Clifton and Barbara Alley; Jerrell and Linda Alley all of Galax, Virginia; sisters and brother-in-law Frances Moxley; Wanda and Dallas Burnett; brother Swanson Sawyers all of Galax, Virginia; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Myron Dalton officiating. Burial will follow in the Alley Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday night from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
