Nina Galyean Hawks age 75 of Galax, Virginia passed away Monday, March 15, 2010 at her home.
Mrs. Hawks was born on February 9, 1935 in Grayson County, Va. to Jim & Bertha McRoberts Galyean. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Dora Swiney and two brothers Ivy J. Galyean & Lynwood Galyean.
She is survived by her husband Raymond Elwood Hawks of Galax, Va.; daughter Linda Hawks McCann of Low Gap, N.C.; grandchildren Lisa Montgomery & Chad McCann; great-grandchildren Catie McCann & Trevor Montgomery; sister Hattie Tompkins of Low Gap, N.C.; brothers James Galyean & Troy Galyean both of Mt. Airy, N.C..
The funeral service will be held Friday, March 19, 2010 at 2:00 pm in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. John Kinder officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Ridge Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
