Nina Blanche Stanley Edwards age 88 of Salem, Virginia passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2025 in the Good Samaritan-Sheila S. Strauss Hospice House in Roanoke, Virginia.

Mrs. Edwards was born on September 22, 1936 in Grayson County, Virginia to Garnett and Virginia Myrtle Rakes Stanley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Edgar Dean Edwards; sisters Marie Mitchell, Iva Martin, Clarice Ward and Forest Williams; one brother Curtis Stanley.

While Nina was married to Dean she was very active in the Bible Baptist Church in Galax, Virginia.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Lynwood and Robin Funk of Buchanan, Virginia; two granddaughters and husbands Meaghan Funk Rookstool and Travis of Check, Virginia; Heather Funk Whitman and Adam of Roanoke, Virginia; four great-grandchildren Avery Rookstool; Payson Rookstool; Robert Whitman and Theodore Whitman; one sister Glenda Mills of Cripple Creek, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial  service will be held Saturday, March 8, 2025 at 1:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel. Burial will be private for the family in the Felts Memorial Cemetery. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family respectfully request donations be made to the Stevens Creek Church  or the Good Samaritan House,
