Nina Clemency Rutherford Carico, age 87, Galax, VA died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2016, at The Grayson Rehab Center, Independence, VA.

Mrs. Carico was born Sept. 2, 1928 in Grayson County, VA to Harve Rutherford and Sally Winnie Galyen Rutherford. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Mitchell Carico, son, Larry Mitchell Carico, sister, Eva Nichols and brother Bruce Jones.

She is survived by one daughter & son-in-law, Carol Carico Moxley & David E Moxley, Independence, VA; two sons and daughter-in-law, Wade Carico & Sue, Hillsville, VA, Jerry Carico, Galax, VA, Baywood Community; sister & brother-in-law, Iva Burcham and Archie, Galax, VA, Fairview Community; brothers & wives, Herbert Rutherford & Ruth, Galax, VA, Baywood Community, Rudolph Rutherford & LouElla, Galax, VA, Fairview Community. Thomas Rutherford, Galax, VA; Eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and several nieces & nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday Aug, 6, 2016 at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home at 11:00 AM with burial to follow in the Mt. Olivet Union Baptist Church Cemetery (Baywood). Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until time for the funeral service, Saturday, at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home. Officiating will be David Osborne.
