Nettie Bowman Vaughan age 88 of Galax, Va. passed away Thursday, September 7, 2006 in Twin County Regional Hospital. She was born on July 21, 1918 in Carroll County, Va. to the late Washington and Eliza Cox Bowman. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Fielden Vaughan; sisters, Valerie Bowman; Minnie McAlexander and Essie Bishop; brothers Artis Bowman and Cartis Bowman and a nephew, Arthur McAlexander. She is survived by her nieces, Anna McGuire Nancy Hale, Celia Cassell, Lois Burnette and Ruth West; her nephews, Archie McAlexander, Clarence Bishop, Marvin Bishop and Earl Bishop. The funeral service will be held Sunday, September 10, 2006 at 2:00 PM in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Terry Vaughan officiating. Burial will follow in Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from one until two before the funeral service at the funeral home.
