On February 15, Nelson Fred Lundy passed away gently from the arms of his family into the waiting arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ. He was surrounded by his loving wife, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren at the time of his passing.

Nelson was born December 7, 1926, the son of Will and Guida Delp Lundy. He is survived by his loving wife, Sue White Lundy, his son, Ronald Lundy (Judy), his daughter Patricia Davis (Richard), his grandchildren Stephanie Benne (Phil), Scott Lundy (Nicole) and Ashlee Davis & fiancé Chris Jones. He also has three precious great grandsons, Andrew, Alex and Max Benne, and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is also survived by his best friend, Robert Bowers whom he loved as a brother and Imogene Bowers, life-long friends.

He is predeceased by his parents, his four brothers Wesley Lundy, Donald Lundy, Clarence Lundy and W.D. Lundy and his sister Berylene Lundy Patton.

Nelson was proud to have served his country during World War II in Korea and the Philippines. When he returned to the States, he met his Sweet Sue. He always said he knew he would marry her the first time he saw her. They were married and devoted to each other for over 62 years.

He was a scout master for several years and was a long-time member of the V.F.W. He continued to serve his country in the Army Reserves until his retirement. He worked for Standard Auto Parts and retired from the Federal Government. Nelson loved and treasured his family, his country, and his church family at Cranberry Christian Church where he served as elder for many years. He was happiest outdoors, pruning apple trees, sawing wood, planting beautiful flowers and gardening. No one ever had a more wonderful father than Ron and Pat.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 2:00 pm in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Bill Ring officiating. Burial will follow in Monta Vista Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from seven until nine at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
