Nellrena Shirley Gonzalez age 77 of Galax, Virginia passed away Thursday, May 18, 2017 in the Forsyth Medical Center.
Mrs. Gonzalez was born on August 15, 1939 in Carroll County, Virginia to Virgil Barnett and Rosa Elizabeth Landreth Cox. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two children Donna Cocke and Terry Wayne Cocke.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Joaquin Millan of Galax, Virginia; grandson and wife Joshua and Angela Millan of Kannapolis, North Carolina; sisters Betty Cox of Laurel Fork, Virginia; Wilma Boyd of Dublin, Virginia; brother Everett Cox of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will be held Sunday, May 21,2017 at 4:00 PM in the River Hill Christian Church with Joe Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from six until eight at the River Hill Christian Church. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family to assist with the funeral expense.
