Nell H. Burris age 89 of Galax, Va. passed away Wednesday evening at her home. She was born in Mt. Airy, North Carolina on February 17, 1917 to the late Plesant C. & Dora Jennings Burris. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband William E. Burris. She is survived by her sons & daughters-in-law: Johnny G. & Pat Burris of Galax, Va.; Billy H. & Judy Burris of Reidsville, N.C.; sister Elwood Hackler of Galax, Va; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and a special caregiver Becky Williams. A graveside service will be held Saturday, February 3, 2007 at 2:00 PM in Monta Vista Cemetery with Pastor Cass Horton, Pastor Rodney Christman and Rev. Charles Smythers officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Twin County Hospice 308 South Main Street, Galax, Virginia 24333.
