Nancy Thore Stuart age 64 of Ivanhoe, Virginia passed away Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at the Twin County Regional Hospital

Nancy was born in Galax, Virginia on November 27, 1952 to Hurley and Janet Kirby Thore. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by a sister Pam Thore.

Nancy worked with the Girl Scouts for thirty-five years and held many different positions with them. She was also President of the American Academy Professional Coders and held several positions with them.

In addition to her mother Janet Thore of Ivanhoe, Virignia, Nancy is survived by her husband Rickey Stuart of Ivanhoe, Virginia; daughter and spouse Tia and Terri Duncan-Stuart of Woodlawn, Virginia; four grandchildren Kadison Bourne; Ashley Tolbert; Tiffani Potokar and Tambra DeAtley; five great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law Trish and Jay Dickson of Low Gap, North Carolina; Debbie Swain of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; Linda and Ricky Sizemore of Galax, Virginia; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, July 20, 2017 at 7:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Bill Spurlin officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 5:00 PM until time for the service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
