Nancy Keith Smythers, 78, of Hillsville, passed away Thursday, August 5, 2010 at the home of her daughter, Donna, in Winston-Salem, NC. Nancy was born in Scott County, Virignia on September 27, 1931 to the late Stuart Baker & Lillian Dockery Keith.

She is survived by three daughters: Linda S. Bowles of Woodlawn, VA; Barbara S. & Lewis A. Dalton, Dugspur, VA; Donna S. Smythers, Winston-Salem, NC; grand son Andrew Melton of Woodlawn, VA; three sisters and husbands: Joan & Waldo Dorton, Castlewood, VA; Freida & Curtis Elam, Vicksburg, Mississippi; Rhea & Don Whetsel, Annapolis, Maryland; two brothers and sister-in-law: Larry Keith of Gate City, VA, Gary & Teresa Keith of Piney Flats, TN; sister-in-law Selma Patton of Galax; special friends Tiffany and Dalton, Linda Waller, Melissa Waller, & Page Stoneman all of Winston-Salem, NC. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

The family expresses special thanks to the Hospice & Palliative Carecenter of Winston-Salem and Ted Williams Center.

The funeral service will be held 2:00 PM, Sunday, August 8, 2010 at the Midway Heights Community Church with Brother Max Combs officiating. The family will receive friends at the church Sunday from 1:00 PM until service time. Interment will follow in Felts Cemetery in Galax.

In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Hospice & Palliative Carecenter of Winston-Salem, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
