Nancy Janet Kirby Thore better known as Janet Thore age 82 of Ivanhoe, Virginia passed away Monday, August 7, 2017 in the Twin County Regional Hospital.

Mrs. Thore was born on December 29, 1934 in Galax, Virginia to Joe Garnett and Litha Matilda Hampton Kirby. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two daughters Nancy Thore Stuart and Pam Thore.

She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law Trish and Jay Dickson of Low Gap, North Carolina; Debbie Kay Swain of Mt. Airy, North Carolina; Linda and Ricky Sizemore of Galax, Virginia; son-in-law Rickey Stuart of Ivanhoe, Virginia; four grandchildren Crystal Dawn Adams; Tia Duncan-Stuart; Brandon Thore and Kelly Cline; several great-grandchildren; special furry friends Gracie; Eli; Boy and Tattoo.

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 7:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Pastor Bill Spurlin officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM until time for the service at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
