Nancy Robinson Friend, 67, of Galax, VA, passed away in the Wake Forest Baptist University Cancer Center on Monday, Oct. 29, 2018.

She was born on November 9, 1950, in Pulaski, VA, to the late James Adam and Dorothy Davis Robinson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son-in-law, Dr. Manuel G. Firgau.

She is survived by her husband, Terry Friend of Galax; daughter and fiancé, Dr. Sarah Friend and Jarrod Wilson of Galax; daughter and husband, Rebecca Friend Osborne and Mack Osborne of Sparta, NC; grandchildren, Gracie and Johannes Firgau of Galax and Emily and Sophie Joines of Sparta, NC; sister and brother-in-law, Liz and E.C. Lineberry of Ashburn, VA; Brother and sister-in-law, Wayne and Tina Robinson; several nieces and nephews.

Nancy will forever be remembered for her beautiful spirit, generous heart and loving kindness as well as for her creative and culinary talents.

The funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 3, 2018, at Galax Presbyterian Church with Dr. Thomas J. Whartenby officiating. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. to be followed by services at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in the West End Cemetery in Wytheville, VA

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to a charity of choice or to the Galax Foundation for Excellence in Education in Nancy's honor.
