Myrtle Akers Wilson age 87 of Wilmington, Delaware passed away Monday, May 21, 2012 in the Parkview Nursing Home.

Mrs. Wilson was born in Wythe County, Virginia on October 7, 1924 to Roosevelt and Ruth Barnett Akers. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Carnie Wilson; daughter Belinda Burris and son Arnold Lee Wilson.

She is survived by her daughter Connie Irene Gonzalez of Midland, Texas; son Roanld David Wilson of Wilmington, Delaware; sister Barbara Arnold of Austinville, Virginia; brother Larry Ayers of Kentucky; six grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Sunday, May 27, 2012 at 2:00 PM in the Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Mike Ingo officiating. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday evening from six until eight at the Vaughan-Guynn Funeral Home.
